THE CIVIL SERVICES EXAMINATION(CSE) is a nationwide COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION in INDIA conducted by the UNION PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION for the recruitment of various civil services INDIAN ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE(IAS), INDIAN FOREIGN SERVICES(IFS), INDIAN POLICE SERVICE(IPS), etc…And considered to be the TOUGHEST examination in India.
IF we check with the PROCESS: THE CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATION is based on the BRITISH RAJ-era Imperial service tests conducted by old Indian empires such as in the Mauryan empire and Mughal empire. ON average 9, 00,000 candidates apply every year and the number of candidates appearing to sit in the preliminary examination is approximately 4, 50,000.
The examination consists of the following Three stages:
STAGE 1: PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION:
A Qualifying test was notified in MAY and held in AUGUST every year from 2013 and results published in the mid- October.
STAGE 2: MAIN EXAMINATION
Held in DECEMBER every year. Results are usually published in the second week of March.
STAGE 3: PERSONALITY TEST (INTERVIEW)
Held in APRIL / MAY each year. ( Tentative )
Final Results Are Usually Announced In May
The training programmed for selected candidates usually starts in the month of SEPTEMBER. CIVIL SERVANTS are backbone of whole administrative set up in a democracy. The civil services form an integral part and play a crucial role in democratic government and they are called permanent executives who assist the Political executives. This examination has a proper mixture of power and passion to serve the nation irrespective to the class of society they belong TO.
